Thanks to everyone who has booked Session 1 (March/April) exams using our new booking service. So what happens next?

Appointment confirmation

If you booked a practical exam at one of our Public Venues, you’ll already know your date and venue. During the week beginning 10 February, we’ll confirm the time of your exams. If you’re the exam applicant – or a candidate (parent/carer) with an account – you’ll receive an email to let you know that you can log in and view your confirmed practical appointments. Confirmation emails for Music Theory exams will arrive separately in the same week.

What if an appointment isn’t suitable?

You’ll be able to log in to your account, search for an alternative and change the appointment. You can change practical appointments up to 48 hours before the exam date. The online rescheduling service works in real time and exam slots may become available at any point up to 48 hours before the final date of the exam session. So, if you don’t find an alternative immediately, it’s always worth checking back.

Can I phone up instead?

Our new online rescheduling service replaces the previous phone and email service. We’re now unable to change appointments by phone or email. Instead, you can log in and do this at a time that’s convenient to you. If you need help with rescheduling, take a look at the information on our website to save a phone call and the possibility of waiting in a queue to speak to a member of the customer service team.

Candidates (parents/carers) can change appointments too

If a candidate (parent/carer) has their own account, they can also log in to change a Public Venue practical appointment. If you’re an applicant and would like to ask the parent to do this, make sure they have the candidate’s Contact ID. They can use this to set up an account in the candidate’s name and then log in, view alternative appointments and move their child into a new slot if available. With an account, they’ll also have direct access to their child’s results, seven days after we’ve released them to the applicant.
