Late booking and rescheduling exams
Late booking for our remotely-assessed Performance Grade and ARSM exams is open until 4 November.
Late booking and rescheduling for our practical and ARSM exams at a Public Venue is now open until 16 December.
You can make late bookings and reschedule exams through your online account. Both are subject to availability at the time you log in. To check availability go to our online service, click ‘Public Venue booking’, proceed to venue availability and search the map in ‘Your preferences’. You do not need to log in or commit to a booking to check for appointments.
There are four sections to a Jazz Trombone exam, giving candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their skills through prepared work and musicianship tests.
The tunes cover a wide range of styles - from New Orleans and swing through to modal, jazz-rock and Latin jazz. Each arrangement contains a fully notated Head and at least one section for improvisation, with a simple chord sequence and set of guideline pitches.
